What If You Don’t Have a Popsicle Mold?

The base of these healthy popsicles is similar to a smoothie bowl or frozen fruit sorbet. If you don’t have a popsicle mold, no worries! Enjoy your mango dessert in a bowl like you would with sorbet. You could also store the mango mixture in a loaf pan in the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes to thaw before enjoying. Here’s the popsicle mold I have.

    Frequently Asked Questions:

Have a question about this recipe? Here’s some additional tips and commonly asked questions:

Can I make this recipe dairy-free and/or vegan?

Instead of using plain kefir, you can use your favorite non-dairy milk or yogurt. Kefir is thicker than milk so you may need to use less milk. If using yogurt, I would try adding a few spoonfuls and then a splash of milk or water.

How long do these popsicles last in the freezer?

These popsicles are best enjoyed within 4-6 weeks. Ensure that they are covered or stored in the popsicle mold cover.

    Can I use fresh mango?

I have yet to try fresh mango in this recipe, however, I think it would work well. Frozen mango is easier since it’s pre-cut into cubes aka less mess! Frozen mango is also more accessible and you can make this recipe any time of year since you aren’t limited to when fresh mango is in season.

    Ingredients

    Units Scale
    • 2 cups frozen mango
    • 1 cup unsweetened plain kefir
    • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup or honey

    Instructions

    1. Add ingredients to a blender. Pulse for a few seconds before blending until smooth. Add a few tablespoons of kefir if you're blender needs a little help blending or if mixture is too thick.
    2. Transfer mango mixture to a popsicle mold. Fill each popsicle mold ¾ of the way full. Top with lid and insert popsicle sticks.
    3. Freeze for 3 hours or overnight. Enjoy!

    Notes

If you don't have a good high-speed blender, you'll likely have to add more kefir or liquid to blend.
